JPAS Streamlining Foster Care

Afraid of a long-term commitment?

Many people are afraid to foster shelter animals for a variety of reasons. Most of those reasons are based on misconceptions. Fostering doesn’t have to be long-term either! Even if you are interested in taking one of our animals for only a few hours, an overnight, or just a weekend, there’s a place for you in our Rest & Relaxation (R&R) Program. Many people who might be interested in fostering just don’t know where to start.

We are in the process of streamlining our foster/R&R program to make it more efficient, informative, and to help pair our shelter animals with the right temporary homes, making them more adoptable. As such, we want to create a database of people who are interested in information about our foster program and allows us to share the many animals who could benefit from a foster home with the right home.

If you are interested in being added to our foster/R&R database, please provide your preferred contact information (name, mailing address, email address, and phone number)to our Volunteer Foster Coordinators at at jpasfosterEB@gmail.com for our Eastbank Location and jpasfosterWB@gmail.com for our Westbank Location. (This is not a computer-generated mailing list. It is personalized and individualized and you will be asked about your interests, experience, and preferences.)

Remember, as a foster, you not only save one life but two by creating space in the shelter to rescue more animals and you give animals who may be depressed by shelter life a chance to relax and enjoy themselves.
