Teen Programs & Service Learning
Teens can make a PAW-sitive difference in the lives of homeless animals and the Jefferson SPCA wants to invite you to join our mission. We offer various fun ways for teens to earn Service Learning Hours for school.
Student Donation Drive for Service Hours
Any student is welcome to do a donation drive to earn service hours. Please see the Student Donation Drive Packet for more information.

Earn your hours at the animal shelter! Students earn service hours through animal related work, direct hands-on animal care, and shelter service projects. TLC meets on most Saturday mornings at either the Jefferson Parish East bank or West bank animal shelter location.
$30 fee covers T shirt and program supplies. We do offer scholarships if needed.
Once registered, students may participate in our Saturday TLC as often as they wish, earning as many hours as needed.

Teen Education Junior Counselor
Teens aged 15-17 can also earn service hours by assisting with our kids programs, including our camps, birthday parties, and special events. Most of the opportunities are on weekends, and on days in which Jefferson Parish public schools are out. Junior Counselors MUST be friendly and outgoing, and MUST enjoy interacting with children. Activities Junior Counselors might assist with include: helping to facilitate games, crafts, and other activities, animal handling, and set-up and break down of events. There is a $30 annual membership fee that includes a t-shirt.
Prospective Junior Counselors must contact our education coordinator, Renee at firstname.lastname@example.org for details.
