Teen Programs & Service Learning
Teens can make a PAW-sitive difference in the lives of homeless animals and the Jefferson Parish Animal Shelter wants to invite you to join our mission.
We offer various fun ways for teens to earn Service Learning Hours for school.
Student Donation Drive for Service Hours
Any student is welcome to do a donation drive to earn service hours. Please see the Student Donation Drive Packet for more information.
Service Hours
If you are 16+ and need service hours for school, and want to volunteer at the Jefferson Parish Animal Shelter to earn your hours, please complete our Service Learning Volunteer Application here. https://www.volgistics.com/ex/portal.dll/ap?ap=1730004754
Teen Camp Counselor
Teens aged 15-18 can earn service hours by assisting with our kids programs, including our camps, and special events. Junior Counselors MUST be friendly and outgoing, and MUST enjoy interacting with children. Activities Junior Counselors might assist with include: helping to facilitate games, crafts, and proper animal handling, set up and clean up.
Prospective Junior Counselors may contact Renee, the JPAS Volunteer/Camp Coordinator at ryeaton@jeffparish.net for details.
