Teen Programs & Service Learning
Teens can make a PAW-sitive difference in the lives of homeless animals and the Jefferson Protective & Animal Welfare Services (JPAWS) wants to invite you to join our mission.
We offer various fun ways for teens to earn Service Learning Hours for school.
Student Donation Drive for Service Hours
Any student is welcome to do a donation drive to earn service hours. Please see the Student Donation Drive Packet for more information.
If you are 16+ and need service hours for school, and want to volunteer at the JPAWS to earn your hours, please email our volunteer coordinator with the following information: your name, age, school attending, amount of hours you need to earn. PLEASE NOTE: Those under the age of 16 will need a parent/guardian with them at all times while volunteering.
Teen Camp Counselor
Teens aged 15-18 can earn service hours by assisting with our summer camp program. Junior Volunteer Camp Counselors (JVCC) MUST be friendly and outgoing, and MUST enjoy interacting with children. Activities JVCC's might assist with include: helping to facilitate games, crafts, and proper animal handling, set up and clean up. To learn more, click here.
