Fix-A-Canine Low Cost Spay/Neuter Program

Fix-A-Canine is a low cost Spay/Neuter program available for dogs in Jefferson Parish funded by the Jefferson Parish Annual Rabies Licenses. The ultimate goal is to reduce the numbers of dogs & puppies that enter our two Jefferson Parish Animal Shelters. In 2010, 12,636 animals entered our shelters.
To participate in the Fix-A-Canine Program, you must be a resident of Jefferson Parish. To make an appointment, contact any of the following veterinary clinics that participate in our program directly and mention "Fix-A-Canine" when making your appointment.

A $60 Co-Payment applies for all sized dogs.

When you bring your dog for the appointment, you will pay the co-payment to the clinic.

The participating clinic will have a voucher certifying that you are a resident of Jefferson Parish.

Please ask the veterinarian about any additional costs they may require at the time of making the appointment.

Often we are asked at what age a puppy can be fixed. It depends on several factors to age, breed, etc., so please ask the vet when making the appointment.
