Many people think that rescuing a pet from the shelter is "better" than rescuing a pet in a foster home because a foster pet is "safe" and a shelter pet is not, but if you adopt from a foster home, you are saving not one, but three animals. How you ask? By adopting a foster pet, you open a spot in a foster home that allows that foster to pull another animal from the shelter and thus, opens a spot in the shelter.

Plus, there are so many benefits to adopting a foster pet. A head start on training, faster acclimation in a home setting, a better understanding of their true personality outside of the shelter, and less of a chance of the negative behaviors and health problems seen in shelters. The list goes on! Many fosters have been around children, cats, dogs, and been exposed to different types of situations so their foster families can tell you how they will react. Most animals have different personalities in the shelter than in a home. A foster family will have a better understanding of their true personality and more time spent receiving TLC in a home, means a happier, healthier pet.
