The Community Cat Program Sponsored by Best Friends

The Community Cat Program offers free spay & neuter services to any area within Jefferson Parish. Community cats are ownerless strays or feral cats who live outdoors in our neighborhoods. The CCP staff will come to your neighborhood to humanely trap, spay/neuter, vaccinate and ear-tip the community cats (ear-tipping is the universal symbol of a spayed/neutered outdoor cat.) Once they recover, cats are returned to their areas, and their numbers are reduced overtime. Our goal is to work with the caregivers and the community to humanely reduce the number of cats living in your neighborhood over time.

We understand that not everyone enjoys cats in their yards. When the CCP staff come to TNR your neighborhood they will also offer free cat deterrents, that are completely safe to the animal, but will help to deter cats from the property.

If you’ve seen stray cats in your neighborhood please consider calling/texting the number below or shooting us an email. We’d love to hear from you!
